Architecture and Construction Archives of the University of Puerto Rico (AACUPR)
The Architecture and Construction Archives at the University of Puerto Rico (AACUPR), for its initials in Spanish) began in 1986 as an educational supporting unit within the School of Architecture at the University of Puerto Rico’s Río Piedras campus. Over the years, it grew to become a research center specializing in the study of architecture and construction in Puerto Rico. Some of the highlights of its mission are the rescue, conservation, and outreach of Puerto Rico’s architectural values.

The Luis Muñoz Marín Foundation (LMMF) was created in 1980 as an educational and cultural not-for-profit organization. Its mission is to assist in building the future of Puerto Rico by the preservation, the actualization, and provision of an outreach platform for the values, philosophy, and ways of thinking of Luis Muñoz Marín as well as their application in the identification and solution of the main problems affecting the country.

Para la Naturaleza (PLN)
Founded in 2013, Para la Naturaleza is a not-for-profit unit of the Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico. Among its duties are to drive actions in support of the conservation of natural and patrimonial resources and to integrate society at large in the conservation of natural ecosystems to increase protected lands in Puerto Rico. Para la Naturaleza oversees educational activities, the organization of volunteers, and the fundraising for the Conservation Trust. It seeks to facilitate transformational experiences that inspire and motivate individuals and communities to get involved in concrete actions for safeguarding natural and patrimonial resources.

Puerto Rico General Archive (ICP)
Under the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, the Puerto Rico General Archive was established by the Number 5 Act of December 8, 1955, amended, known as the Ley de Administración de Documentos Públicos de Puerto Rico. It holds more than 90,000 cubic feet of records including: text, visual (plans, maps, drawings), prints (newspapers, magazines), photographs, movies, and recordings in a variety of formats. Its mission is focused on gathering, overseeing, preserving, and making available part of the historical and patrimonial records of Puerto Rico.

The Puerto Rico Historic Building Drawing Society (PRHBDS) is a non-for-profit organization established in 2011 with the objective to compile a register of drawings and photographs documenting buildings of historic value in Puerto Rico. Its mission focuses as well, in disseminating the architectural heritage of Puerto Rico at a global level and educating broad audiences on the importance of historic preservation.

San Juan National Historic Site (NPS)
The San Juan National Historic Site includes several fortifications such as the San Cristóbal Castle, the San Felipe del Morro Castle, and the San Juan de la Cruz Fort (also known as El Cañuelo), bastions, gunpowder houses, and three quarters of the defensive wall that protected the city. All these structures surround the old colonial part of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Cañuelo Fort stands at Isla de Cabras, west of the entrance to the San Juan Bay.

State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO)
The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) is responsible for maintaining an inventory of historic properties and for the nomination of properties to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). In addition, it assists federal agencies in the application of the requirements established in the National Historic Preservation Act (1966). The SHPO understands that the conservation of historic properties contributes to the protection of natural resources and to economic development and that, conversely, this results in the integral improvement of the individual and collective quality of life of Puerto Rican citizens.
