Parroquia San Blas de Illescas - Coamo - 2013 00026
Description
View from the interior of the Parroquia San Blas de Illescas in the town of Coamo. The parish has two levels made of masonry with characteristics of the Neoclassic style. In the interior it can be distinguished the altar decorated with the altar table, wooden chairs and vases. The altar wall has framed and ornamented niches where religious statues rest. Also, you can see pilasters that secure a continuous entablature. You can distinguish kneelers and steps covered with marble tiles with chess motif that preside the altar. The Parroquia San Blas de Illescas (catholic) was built for the first time in 1579 with wood, thatched and yagua. Subsequently, between 1661 and 1784 it was inaugurated again in masonry. After an earthquake in 1867 it had to be restored again and in 1896 they added the metallic grid that surrounds it.Origin Name |
