Neoclassical Criollo - House in an Hacienda

Description

Front view of a two-story Hacienda house in the town of Sabana Grande. The residence has two floors, made of concrete and wood, and a hipped zinc roof. In the foreground, there is a patio fountain surrounded by a semicircular balustrade with decorative sculptures and potted plants. The dwelling has an entrance staircase that leads to the balcony; the staircase, where two people are standing there, has a concrete railing. On the first level, there are projecting arches and concrete balustrades. The second floor has an ample balcony with highlighted arches and a concrete balustrade supported by columns. The balcony is decorated with potted plants and chairs. In addition, doors and double jalousie-glass windows, which are surrounded by wooden moldings are visible. The house is surrounded by greenery. This residence is the Hacienda San Francisco, also know as Hacienda Quilichini.

Descriptive Notes	The title, date, and address were provided by the Architecture and Construction Archive of the University of Puerto Rico (AACUPR). In the file provided by the archive, the following information is clarified: "Fotógrafo: Carol F. Jopling, estudiantes de arquitectura o Earth Watch Volunteers." On the back of the image, there are handwritten notes that read: "49 CAJ|0067|F0003." On the back of the image, there is a stamp that reads "Print made by KODAK Oct 79." Some of the photos found in the archives of this collection are repeated and show the same houses because they document other formats created for the research project led by Carol F. Jopling and were taken on different occasions (example: 35mm negatives, color, black and white, instant photos, photos that were brightened or with contrast).
