Description

Lateral view of the building Plaza del Mercado located in the coastal city of Ponce. The building Plaza del Mercado has two floors with a roof made of corrugated metal sheets and characteristics of the Neoclassic and Art Deco styles. The facade has a portico with a double door framed and crowned with a curve eave and a framed transom. It also has a staggered pediment with decorative moldings, fluted details, some in low relief and an inscription that says: "Mercado". Aside from that, in the surroundings of the building you can distinguish the paved street with standing people and vehicles. The construction of the Plaza del Mercado Isabel II dates back to 1863. Throughout the years it has been restored in 1903, 1941, 1989 and 2007.
