Description
Lateral view of the building Plaza del Mercado located in the coastal city of Ponce. The building of the Plaza del Mercado has two floors with a roof made of corrugated metal sheets and characteristics of the Neoclassic and Art Deco styles. The bottom floor has a socle made of ceramic tiles, hinged doors, glass windows and fluted pilasters that go up to the additional level. The levels are divided with a curve eave supported by staggered brackets. The second floor has glass windows, pilasters, decorative moldings, drainage and an ornamental frieze. Aside from that, in the surroundings of the building you can distinguish the paved street where there are benches, light poles, garden areas and vehicles. The construction of the Plaza del Mercado Isabel II dates back to 1863. Throughout the years it has been restored in 1903, 1941, 1989 and 2007.| Origin Name |
