Description
View of the building of Plaza del Mercado located in the coastal city of Ponce. To the left far end of the street you can distinguish connected buildings with different characteristics and on the paved street there are benches, light poles and garden areas. Aside from that, to the right far end of the street there is the Plaza del Mercado building. The building has two floors with characteristics of the Neoclassic and Art Deco styles. The bottom level has a socle made of ceramic tiles, hinged door, glass windows and fluted pilasters that go up to an additional level. The levels are divided with a curve eave supported by staggered brackets. In addition, the second floor has glass windows, pilasters, decorative moldings and an ornamental frieze. The construction of the Plaza del Mercado Isabel II dates back to 1863. Throughout the years it has been restored in 1903, 1941, 1989 and 2007.| Origin Name |
