Street of Criollo Vernacular Houses
Description
Street view with different houses in the town of Camuy. The first house is built over a concrete wall. Some parts are made of wood, and it has a gabled zinc roof with lattice-style windows, and a single wooden door. It has a balcony surrounded by a cement wall, sustained by columns. The second house is built over a concrete wall. Some elements are made of wood and it has a gabled zinc roof, lattice-style windows, and a balcony surrounded by a wall of ornamental blocks. Over the walls there are ornamental metallic bars. The third is a house made of concrete and has a gabled zinc roof, lattice-style windows, and a single door. The title, date, and address were provided by the Architecture and Construction Archive of the University of Puerto Rico (AACUPR). In the file provided by the archive, the following information is clarified: "Fotógrafo: Carol F. Jopling, estudiantes de arquitectura o Earth Watch Volunteers". On the back of the image, there are handwritten notes that read: “186, CAJ|0127|F0001". There are repeated photos in the collection because they document other formats created for the project. Examples: 35mm negatives, color, black and white, instant photographs, photos that have been brightened or with contrast.
