| Descripción decolonial |
The concrete vernacular country house in Luquillo embodies decoloniality, innovation, and housing rights. Unfinished, the building defies physical and colonialistic norms. It stands on stilts with walls, windows, and doors left open to the elements. Nestled among mountains and greenery, the building subverts imposed and imported building norms (concrete material, reinforced steel) to create a new iteration of local design, reflective of an ongoing journey toward autonomy, resisting oppression, and reclaiming legal space.
