Description
View of the interior of the Casa Paoli located on the Mayor street from the coastal city of Ponce. The house has one floor with characteristics of the Neoclassic style. On the interior spaces you can see two double doors made of wood, one of which has lattice style windows. Both are crowned with wooden sunrise transoms. The room has a showcase with two musical instruments, decorative frames on the walls and a hanging lamp in the middle of the room. In addition, the ceiling is made of wood and the upper border of the wall has continuous moldings. The Casa Paoli was built between 1871 and 1883, being the residence for the family of the well known Puerto Rican tenor Antonio Emilio Paoli y Marcano. It was remodeled in 1914 and later on the 1920s. Over the years it has been used as a family residence and more recently as a museum house. Additionally, it belongs to the National Register of Historic Places since 2009.| Origin Name |
