Description

View of the interior of the Casa Paoli located on the Mayor street from the coastal city of Ponce. The house has one floor with characteristics of the Neoclassic style. On the interior spaces you can see wooden doors with lattice windows, piled up cardboard boxes, double wooden windows and at the end of the hallway a double door made of wood and glass crowned with a glass transom. In addition, on the walls there are decorative frames, the ceiling is covered with wooden coffered and has paper art objects hanging. The Casa Paoli was built between 1871 and 1883, being the residence for the family of the well known Puerto Rican tenor Antonio Emilio Paoli y Marcano. It was remodeled in 1914 and later on the 1920s. Over the years it has been used as a family residence and more recently as a museum house. Additionally, it belongs to the National Register of Historic Places since 2009.
