Description
View of the interior of the balcony on the Casa Paoli located on the Mayor street from the coastal city of Ponce. The house has one level with characteristics of the Neoclassic style. The front facade is presided by a balcony with ornamental iron railing. Inside the balcony there are two double wooden doors with lattice framed with moldings and crowned with wooden transoms. Between the doors there is an oculus framed with ornamental moldings. In addition, next to one of the doors there is a wooden plaque and a vertical poster. You can also see the floor covered by native tiles made of ceramic. The Casa Paoli was built between 1871 and 1883, being the residence for the family of the well known Puerto Rican tenor Antonio Emilio Paoli y Marcano. It was remodeled in 1914 and later on the 1920s. Over the years it has been used as a family residence and more recently as museum house. Additionally, it belongs to the National Register of Historic Places since 2009.| Origin Name |
