Castillo Villa del Mar - Naguabo - 2015 00132

Description

Ruins of Villa del Mar, commonly known as El Castillo, in Naguabo. Partial view of the rear facade from the two-story house built with reinforced concrete whose design combines native architecture and Late Victorian style. From above you can observe an overhang balcony that has brackets and balustrade. On the wall there is a graffiti with a latin phrase that finishes with the word amen written on the floor. You can also see the backyard, which it has a small rectangular paved area that adjoins with a rocky beach stripe. You can see several pillars, the only remnant of a pier that belonged to the property. Villa del Mar was built in 1917 for Faustino Rodríguez Fuertes and his wife, Carmen Fuertes, owners of Central Triunfo. In the 1980s it was acquired, remodeled and turned into a restaurant by the businessman Arnaldo Castro.
