Description
Close-up of the frieze of the main facade of the old Arsenal of the Spanish Navy in La Puntilla neighborhood in Old San Juan. The building, which was built in 1800, is representative of the Neoclassical architectural style. It is part of a gray and white entablature that has a high-relief frieze in the metope with the image of a woman in white, which alludes to the zodiac signs. Later on, the old Arsenal of the Spanish Navy was used for exhibitions and as administrative offices of the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture.| Origin Name |
