Food Distribution by the Federal Emergency Relief Administration
Group of people standing in line and waiting at a food distribution event of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) program that used allocated funds by the Puerto Rico Reconstruction Administration (PRRA). In the first image children, women, and men are seen in the crowd standing, leaning or sitting on a wall waiting for food to be delivered. Three large buildings are visible next to each other. The building on the left is made of concrete and has an opening that appears to be a door. The building in the middle is also made of concrete and has terminations on its walls with overlapping wooden planks, has double wooden windows with jalousie, and the windows have crown moldings. The building on the right is a house and has an entrance with a balcony, a wood and wire fence, and there are several shrubs and trees surrounding the residence. The second image shows a group of people —among them women, men, children and a military officer— lined up on the sidewalk next to a large building. This building is made of wood and has a second floor with a balcony that completely surounds it. There is a sign at the rear of the building that reads: "Calle del Patriota Pozo". The people are organized in a long line, there are several using parasols and some are standing on a street in front of the building.
