Designed Criollo House

Design of a Criollo House, Arecibo

Isla Verde International Airport Tower

On the roof of the building, there are two spheres and a tower with railings and glass. Around the building there are light poles and a parking lot with cars.

Nova Scotia Bank

Nova Scotia Bank in Old San Juan. The main entrance is at a chamfered corner. A staircase provides access to this entrance, which is adorned with floral mosaic decorations and moldings. The mosaic decoration is repeated throughout the façade of the building. On the upper floor, there are wooden windows with canvas awnings. On the ground floor, there are windows with metal grilles. Several people, including a police officer, are in front of the building.

Designed Criollo House

One-story house in the town of Guayama, on Luis Venegas Street. The house is made of wood over a concrete wall. The roof is flat and made of wood and zinc. It has a large porch surrounded by an ornamental metallic railing sustained by fine columns. The porch is decorated with potted plants, wall lamps, and wooden pilasters. The double, lattice-style doors are made of wood. Over the doors, there are wooden moldings. The upper edge of the porch has wooden cornices and friezes.

San Francisco Street, Old San Juan

San Francisco Street at Old San Juan. Row houses can be seen on both sides of the street, most of them have shops on their first floors. There are businesses labeled outside or with hanging signs. The street is paved with cobblestones and the streetcar rails are visible. There are many people passing by.

"Vernacular Pueblerino" House

Plaza Degetau Street, Ponce

Plaza Degetau Street in Ponce. The Hotel Meliá, the tramway, and part of the Parque de Bombas can be seen at the plaza. There are two horse-drawn carriages in front of the hotel. Persons are seen in the carriages, in the plaza, and on the sidewalks. A policeman is located near the plaza.

Grand Belvedere House

Two-story house in the town of San Germán. The house is surrounded by a concrete balustrade. The first level is lower than the sidewalk. There are stairs in front of the house. It has a balcony surrounding the residence; the balcony has a concrete balustrade sustained by columns. Wooden windows that open outward can be seen combined with lattice-style glazed glass, over which there are small, wooden eaves. Above the house there is an attic surrounded by windows which are the same as in the lower part. There is also a roofless balcony surrounded by a concrete balustrade.

Grand Criollo House

One-story house with a flat roof in the town of Juana Díaz, on Degetau #39 Street. The house is attached to others, it has a balcony surrounded by an ornamental metallic railing sustained by ornamental pilar bars. The roof over the porch is made of zinc and the upper edge has cornices. The lattice-style, double doors are made of wood and are surrounded by relieving arches.

Emulsión Giménez Inc

Criollo House Designed

One-story concrete house in the town of San Germán. The house is built over a wall. It has a balcony surrounded by an ornamental metallic railing sustained by columns that are divided by basket-handle arches. In the lower front part of the columns there are bas-relief designs. The double doors with stained glass windows are raised over round arches. Over the doors, there are fanlights and moldings. In the upper part of the house, there are cornices and ornamental friezes.

One-story concrete house at Río Cañas Abajo in the town of Juana Díaz. The house is surrounded by a low wall with ornamental metallic bars, which is divided by entrance stairs. There are front gardens to both sides of the stairs. The residence has a balcony surrounded by a baluster sustained by fine columns. The doors are over discharge frames with moldings. In addition, the double lattice-style doors are wooden, and over them, there are mullions. The upper edge of the house has ornamental friezes and cornices. There are several persons and a vehicle parked in front of the house.

Vernacular Criollo House, Arecibo

Territory and Agricultural Bank of Puerto Rico

Territory and Agricultural Bank of Puerto Rico in Old San Juan. A three-story building with an arcade façade on the first two floors. The second floor features quoins and pilasters. The third floor has decorative moldings and pilasters. At the top of the building, there are two cornices. The space between the two cornices is labeled, "Banco Territorial y Agrícola de Puerto Rico." One of the balconies on the second floor has a sign that reads, "American Colonial Bank." On the first floor, there is another sign that cannot be fully seen, "The American...". There is a horse-drawn carriage in front of the bank, and in front of the bank, there is a square with a statue on a pedestal.

Design of a Vernacular "Pueblerino" House

One-story house built over a low concrete wall on Molina Street #43 in the town of Ponce. The house is made of wood with a zinc roof. The residence has a porch surrounded by a wooden balustrade supported by columns. The roof is flat and made of wood and zinc, while the edge has cornices and ornamental friezes. The double lattice-style doors are wooden with moldings of the same material. To one side, the windows with eaves are visible. To both sides of the dwelling, there are ornamental metal grilles and houses with similar features.

One-story house in the town of Añasco on 65 de Infantería Street #45. The house is made of wood and has a hipped zinc roof. The dwelling has a balcony surrounded by an ornamental metallic railing sustained by fine columns. The lattice-glass style double doors are made of wood; which are surrounded by wooden moldings with ornamental designs at the top. The upper edge of the residence has cornices and ornamental borders.

Grand Vernacular Neoclassic House

There are stairs in front of the house. There is a balcony that surrounds the residence, the balcony has a concrete balustrade sustained by columns. One is able to see wooden windows that open outward, in lattice-style and glazed wood, over which there is a small wooden eave. On top of the house, there is an attic surrounded by windows similar to those on the bottom. There is also a roofless balcony surrounded by a concrete balustrade.

Bohío and cooking shed in "Little Africa"

Bank at the Old San Juan

American Colonial Bank in Old San Juan. A three-story building (not counting the basement) located on Recinto Sur Street, at the corner of San Justo Street. The first floor features a facade with arches and columns. A staircase leads to the entrance, which has a pediment design supported by pilasters. The second floor has windows with pediments and balconies, as well as horizontal moldings at the level of the balconies. The third floor has windows with balconies on small overhangs. Between the first and second floors, there is a cornice. The basement has windows with grilles at street level. All the windows on the three floors have canvas awnings. The building has a tiled roof. Cobbled streets are visible, and there are people walking by.

National City Bank of New York Santurce Branch

Santurce Branch of the National City Bank of New York. A building with three Roman arches in the façade and iron gates. Each arch has four steps leading to the entrance. On one side, it has a flat arch with a wooden door that gives access to the back. The building has a basement and a tiled roof.

"Vernacular Pueblerino" House

La Margarita Restaurant

La Margarita Restaurant. A two-story building located on a commercial street. The first floor has three arched doors and four pairs of pillars with decorative moldings. Two of the doors have roll-up blinds. The second floor features three arches over pillars, projecting balconies with corbels and double wooden doors. It also has four small arches with windows, and in front of each window, there is a decorative pot-shaped ornament on a pedestal. There are three signs, "Powells New York Chocolates," "La Margarita Restaurant Ice Cream Parlor Confectionery... News Stand," and "Dining Room." On both sides, portions of two other buildings with shops on the first floors are visible. On the street, there are three men and two children, one of the men is pushing a wheelbarrow. The street is paved with cobblestones.

Colonial Spanish House
