Punta Tuna Lighthouse - Maunabo - 2011 00005
Aerial view of the Punta de la Tuna lighthouse, located in a peninsula of the Maunabo municipality, in the southeast of Puerto Rico. The lighthouse living quarters are rectangular and is distinguished by the windows with moldings and a cornice crowned with a parapet. The tower is octagonal and its body has a circular window. On this tower there is a gallery with a wrought iron balustrade and lantern, also made of wrought iron, copper and glass. The lighthouse surface is light yellow that alternates with white details. In the background is visible the coast and a group of houses. The lighthouse Punta de la Tuna, also known as Punta Tuna lighthouse, has a third order Fresnel lens. Its design dates from 1890 and its construction finished in 1893.
