Casa Oppenheimer - Ponce - 2014 00001

Front view of the Oppenheimer house located on the Salud street from the coastal city of Ponce. The house has one level made of brick masonry with characteristics of the Art Nouveau style and of the Escuela de Barcelona. Its design is articulated horizontally presided by a garden and a brick masonry fence matched with ornamental iron grilles. In addition, the facade is presided by a balcony with balustrade modulated by ionic order columns on square pedestals that in turn support a continuous entablature. The entablature has cornices, moldings and a crenellated parapet. Aside from that, inside the balcony there are several double doors made of wood with lattices framed with flat moldings. Some doors are under rectangular arches crowned with glass transoms and others under semicircular arches crowned with sunrise transoms made of glass and decorative entablatures supported by brackets. The entrance door is double, stand out since it has a spherical design and is presided by stairs. The Oppenheimer residence dates of 1913, was built for Ms. Isabel Oppenheimer de Santiago. Years later, in 1987 it was included in the National Register of Historic Places.

The house has one level made of brick masonry with characteristics of the Art Nouveau style and of the Escuela de Barcelona. On the interior spaces you can see the ceiling decorated with an ornamental coffered and decorative frames on the walls. In addition, there is a double door made of wood and glass crowned with an open transom without frame. Through the door you can distinguish an adjacent room where there are semicircular openings. The Oppenheimer residence dates of 1913, it was built for Ms. Isabel Oppenheimer de Santiago. Years later, in 1987 it was included in the National Register of Historic Places.

Punta Tuna Lighthouse - Maunabo - 2012 00010

Lateral and rear facade pf the Punta de la Tuna lighthouse, located in a peninsula of the Maunabo municipality, in the southeast of Puerto Rico. The architectonic style of the lighthouse corresponds to the Neoclassic. Its facade is characterized by a socle, moldings, a cornice crowned with a parapet and French windows. The lighthouse surface is painted yellow that alternates with white details. The octagonal tower projects out in the middle of the lighthouse on which it elevates a gallery with a wrought iron balustrade and a lantern, also made of wrought iron, copper and glass. The lantern is crowned with a dome and a weather vane. The lighthouse Punta de la Tuna, also known as the Punta Tuna lighthouse, has a third order Fresnel lens. Its design dates from 1890 and its construction finished in 1893.
