View to the Interior of the Building La Princesa Old Prison in the Old San Juan

A glance to the interior of the building of the La Princesa Old Prison, located in the Paseo de la Princesa in the Old San Juan. The building has influence of the architectonic style of Neo-renaissance, is painted with white, it has flat roofs with molding, windows with wooden grilles painted with green, doors with shape of arches, a stair in the exterior with ornamentation and green gates in two entrances. It has two smaller edifices adjoining, one of them has the roof with the shape of hipped roof and the other one with flat roof with a red tube that stick out and clothes line. There are two people in the lower part of the building and you can observe a part of the defense rampart. In the edifice outsides there is a pier with two vessels and you can see a person sitting. You can observe part of the San Juan Bay with docked boats, some areas delimited and trees. Subsequently, this building became the office of the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico.

La Princesa Jail, Old San Juan

Partial view of the façade of La Princesa Jail, a building with a Neoclassical-looking building located on the promenade of the same name, in Old San Juan. The main entrance is a flat arch flanked by two pairs of pilasters on a wall with quoins, then a cornice above which, there is a clock and a triangular pediment. A lantern and dome top off the central composition of the façade. The building extends on both sides with equidistant doors and windows protected by grilles. In front of the building, there is a metal fence with low posts. Several people can be seen in the vicinity.

Prisoners in the Courtyard of the Prison, San Juan

Prisoners lined up in a row in the courtyard of the jail, San Juan. Each one is carrying a metal container. One of the walls can be seen, which has multiple windows and a small overhang with metal brackets.

View of Former La Princesa Prison. Small roofs with brick tiles and flat roofs with air conditioning compressors and spotlights can be observed. There is a patio that connects to a space with a roof. The building on the right side, in front of the building facing the Paseo de la Princesa pathway, is delimited by a fence and concrete columns. On the left is the boundary wall with trees. Later on, the prison building became known as the Puerto Rico Tourism Company building.
